Meeting and talking with a financial adviser will help you get and stay on track

There’s advice and there’s advice

Lots of people such as friends and family will offer you financial advice but when you're thinking about financial products, it's important to get professional advice upfront. It’s the best way to make sure that the financial product you’re buying is right for you.

Definition: Our definition of financial advice is when a qualified professional adviser looks at your personal situation and recommends financial products that are suitable for you, whether that means insurance, investment or superannuation.

Meeting and talking with a financial adviser is an important step in the process of buying a financial product.

There are too many stories about people who got burned because they were given poor or inappropriate financial advice.

It’s important to get advice that takes your personal or business situation into account, after all no two people’s requirements are exactly the same.

We believe that the best advisers have plenty of experience and also have access to top quality research, which is particularly important when it comes to advising you on investment.  They know and understand the various laws that financial products are subject to, such as tax regulations.

Most importantly, they have the expertise to offer you the right advice to help you achieve the kind of financial well-being you want.

Advice you can trust

In 2009, new legislation, the Financial Adviser’s Act 2008, comes into full effect.

In short, the legislation sets out to promote the sound and efficient delivery of financial advice and to encourage public confidence in financial advisers. It also addresses advisers’ accountability for their advice.

Advisers’ conduct will be regulated and authorisation and registration will be put in place.

The AXA Academy

In 2008 AXA set up The AXA Academy. It’s an intensive training programme for AXA Financial Advisers - and it’s designed to ensure we offer you appropriate advice. The course covers all aspects of financial advice, and it’s your reassurance that, when you talk with one of our advisers, they’re putting your best interests first.
